SANIA's biomass

The SANIA biomass boiler, which was inaugurated in 2011, allows fossil gas to be replaced by timber and walnut shells to produce steam. The use of these materials, provided by PALMCI and SAPH, considerably reduces the amount of CO2 released to the atmosphere as well as the energy costs.

With this project, SANIA benefited from 10,298 tCO2 of Carbon Credits in 2014. Several objectives are expected:

  • Environmental: Sustainable management of natural resources, fight against climate change, sustainability of national and local environment.

  • Economic: Realized savings, national economic growth.

  • Social: Poverty reduction, taking ownership of clean technology.
