Biokala : Meeting the populations of Ayébo

On Friday May 17th 2019, BIOKALA, a subsidiary of SIFCA, participated in the opening ceremony of the public survey as part of the update of the Environmental and Social Impact Study (EIES) of the construction and exploitation project of a thermal biomass factory in Ayébo.

The ceremony took place at the Aboisso Prefecture in presence of the General Secretary of the Prefecture representing the Regional Prefect, the 5 Mayor Deputy, the representative  of the National Environment Agency (ANDE), representatives of the EDF partner project, and Mr. Yacouba BADO, representing Biokala. The opportunity was given to the latter to answer administration and local population’s questions, and to reassure them with regards to environmental and social issues linked to the project.

Awaiting the launch of the construction of the factory, planned by early 2020, the General Secretary urged women and youths to develop as soon as possible activities generating income, such as breeding and food crop culture… beneficial for the community.

The survey will continue until May 30th.
